Pastry 2.5 cups all purpose flour, plus put aside 1/2 cup for rolling pastry.
1 cup shortening, I used tenderflake
1/2 tsp salt
1 large beaten egg
6T cold water
1 tsp. cinnamon Put pastry in fridge for at least 1 hour before rolling out.
Filling: 2/3 cup butter
4 T. heavy cream
2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
i cup chopped pecans, (walnuts or raisins are optional) I liked the pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, Set aside pecans. Add ingredients together except for pecans and put in a pouring measuring cup. Chop pecans and place in tart shells. Pour filling over until 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Yum! d.
Makes about 5 dozen medium tarts.
